Rules and Regulations 

                                                        Game Structure:

Primary school:
8.5' Baskets
• 28.5" Ball
• Two 15-minute halves.
• Clock runs other than timeout.

• No Pressing

• 6 Personal Fouls
• Two 30 second timeouts and 1 full timeout per half. No roll over.

• Regular Season Fouls: Change position - closest point of the out of bounds.

• Playoffs: 10 team fouls - shoot 2 shots.

Middle school:
10' Baskets
• 29.5" Ball
• Two 18-minute halves.
• Stop clock for dead balls last 2-minutes of 2nd half (Only if within 10 points)
• Switch Directions at half time.
• Two 30 second timeouts and 1 full timeout per half. No roll over.
• 5 player fouls
• 20-point mercy rule: When a team leads by 20 or more, no full-court press is permitted.
• 2 Bonus free throws will be awarded at 10 team fouls per half. Team fouls reset at halftime.


High School:
10' Baskets
• 29.5" Ball

• Winning team cannot press - losing team can.
• Two 20-minute halves.
• Stop clock for dead balls last 2-minutes of 2nd half (Only if within 10 points)
• Switch directions at half time
• Two 30 second timeouts and 1 full timeout per half. No roll over.
• 5 player fouls
• 20-point mercy rule: When a team leads by 20 or more, no full-court press is permitted.
• 2 Bonus free throws will be awarded at 10 team fouls per half. Team fouls reset at halftime.


Overtime for Primary, Middle, and High School:
• 2 minutes on clock
• Stop for every dead ball
• Only 2 - 30 second timeout per team.
• Fouls do not reset
• Start with a jump ball
• 2nd overtime start with another jump ball, sudden death.






 

Playing-up league policy:
You may play in an older league. If your team has a feeder team they must play for them.
If your team does not, you can play for any team that doesn't have a feeder team. Once playing for a specific older team, you may not switch.


Scripture Memory Scores:
5 Players from each team will be randomly selected to recite the memory verse. If they are successful, they receive 2 points on the scoreboard each. One coach will also be asked the verse, theirs is worth 1 point.

Forming Teams:
• If you played last year you need to play for the same team. If you're moving up a league and the team you played for previously has a next league up, you must play for them.
• Possible exceptions made for siblings. Must talk to league directors, Cody Rogers and/or Chris Shoemaker for approval.


League Directors:
Cody Rogers and Chris Shoemaker, our league directors, may bench/eject players and spectators. As our league is founded on Biblical principles and a high level of sportsmanship, we reserve the right for the league director to make these judgement calls in addition to the game referees. It's our hope and goal that we never need to resort to this.

Other:
• Each Team is responsible for cleaning up their bench at the end of their game.
• No players from school teams whatsoever, this is also a WVSSAC guideline in addition to our own.
• There will be no cussing or foul language permitted.
• All jewelry should be removed or taped up.
• No open wounds/bleeding on the court.
• 2 court-appropriate shoes required.
(i.e. no boots)
• Games start December 7th. Our goal is to have everything done by March 14th, we cannot guarantee this end date.


                                                                          Maximum Ages:
                                  We first look at a participant's current grade level in school. If a child
                  has failed or been held back for any reason, the maximum ages listed below would also apply.


Primary school:
Maximum age: 11

Middle:
Maximum age: 15

High School:
Maximum age: 19

                                                         End of year Tournaments:

Primary school:
All teams entered into a single-elimination

Middle/High School:
All teams entered into a double elimination tournament.

Seeding:
• Determined by win/loss ratio
• If tied, goes by head to head of the tied teams
• If tied still, goes by scripture differential
• If still tied, we'll flip a coin
